For reasons I don't quite understand, the State thought it would be a good idea to send me to Tulsa to stay at the Cherokee Casino and resort. There was some kind of work related meeting, and then there was swimming in the heated pool (while it was snowing- keen!) and a little gambling (I did not lose much money because, well, I was really too broke to play anything) and then a lot of drinking and listening to the rockin' Brian Eaton band. ... or maybe it was Jeff Eaton. Somebody Eaton. I can't recall. See, there were these video poker  things built into the bar. I put in a dollar, won three. Bought shots. I think Cliff managed to do the same. Mr. Eaton grew annoyed with our incessent requests to hear 'Freebird'. Won our respect by playing some John Lee Hooker. For those who do not know, Mr. Hooker is what is classified as 'mojo workin' blues'. And speaking of mojo, you will be happy to know that both Cliff and I could have had our pick of the 45-year-old-women-who-had-a-few-drinks. Our. Pick. Continue to get good comments back on the fantasy romance. Worked more on SF humor piece- not really funny, mostly just weird.
